Advent Devotions
We will post devotionals on Monday, Wednesday, Friday during the season of Advent. We have also included some of the devotions we experienced together last Advent in 2022. Our focus last year was on Jesus as the “Prince of Peace” and these devotions accompanied our teaching series, providing practical ways for us to experience that Prince of Peace in our everyday lives.
Light of the World Peace
Jesus’ coming brings light to dark places and guides us into the way of peace.
Pass the Peace
God’s peace is not meant to stop at us. It’s meant to be shared and passed along.
Wonderful Counselor and Mighty God
Jesus promised the disciples not only wisdom to view life differently, but power to live life differently.
Enter, the King of Israel, the Prince of Peace?
At the height of Jesus’ ministry, he enters Jerusalem in a triumphant parade. People are throwing their cloaks on the ground as a sort of “red carpet” path for Him.
Who Are You?
Like Jesus’ disciples and followers, like the religious leaders and Romans—we are all fallen, rebellious, and reluctant to trust. We resist God’s rule in our hearts and lives. At best, we have failed and hurt those around us, at worst, we have harmed them.
Light of the World Joy
Lights are for celebrations. We decorate with lights to make a place festive, sparkling, joyful. We choose surfaces that will reflect and scatter light—sequins, sparkles, glitter, cut glass and mirrors.
